We have been honored many times for paving excellence. In 2000, we received two Quality in
Construction Awards from National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) for excellence in
construction of an asphalt pavement.

NAPA 2000 Quality in Construction Award for Connecticut Commons, Plainville, CT
The award-winning project was the preparation and paving of parking lots and roadways for
Connecticut Commons at Plainville. To avoid conflicts with other building contractor, most
paving work was done with two or three crews on Saturdays. Partnering and creative scheduling
made this a highly successful project.

NAPA 2000 Quality in Construction Award for Interstate 395, Montville, CT
The award-winning project was the milling and overlay of the northbound and southbound lanes
of a 3.68 mile section of Interstate 395 in Montville. It also included the preparation and
resurfacing of the two service areas within the project limits, on-and-off ramps, and four
turning roadways. Tilcon Connecticut had to do all work at night, with land closures not longer
than two miles. This was the company's first extensive Superpave project, and it produced a road
that measured a 63 percent improvement in smoothness, earning Tilcon Connecticut a bonus for its work.
