Tilcon’s Construction Division has Won Major State DOT Contract
Section: Heavy & Highway Construction
Tilcon’s Construction division has won a State of CT Department of Transportation (DOT) contract for the reconstruction of Rte. 7 in Wilton worth approximately 35 million dollars. This is one of the Construction division’s largest contracts ever won.
The State has designated nearly three miles of reconstruction on Rte.7 including utility installation. The project includes approximately 65,000 tons of asphalt, which will originate from the Danbury plant, 4,000 yards of cast-in-place concrete for two bridges and 7,000 feet of 12-inch diameter of water main replacement.
Brunalli Construction of Southington will be the primary subcontractor for the bridgework, and Tilcon will hire various other subcontractors. Tilcon’s Construction Estimator Vinnie DiBerardino will manage the project.
The Rte. 7 project, scheduled to begin in September, will run for about 2 ½ years.
